National Family and Health survey -4 results showed that there is an improvement in Child Sex ratio in India as compared to last survey which was conducted way back in 2005-06.
Sex Ratio : Number of females/1000 male population
Child Sex Ratio : Number of girls aged 0-6 years/1000 boys
The ratio in present survey is 919 and it was 914 in previous survey conducted in 2005-06.
So there is improvement in child sex ratio and it may be some reversal of sex ratio.
Punjab and Haryana had showed marked improvement in Child Sex Ratio.
In Punjab, it was 734 in 2005-06 and now it is 860 which is remarkable improvement.
In Haryana, it was 762 in year 2005-06 and now it is 836.
However Delhi and Uttarakhand have shown decline in Child sex ration during this period.
So I advise my all students to remember these figures as these figures may be asked in some GK based competition exams like IAS,PCS, Law entrance, SSC , Banking and other exams.
